Andreia Maia

Andreia is originally from Cartaxo (Santarém), Portugal. She moved to Boston, USA, to pursue her Ph.D. at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute | Harvard Medical School, where she studied Natural Killer (NK) cell therapies in oncology. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, focusing on the development of in vivo cell therapies. Since 2024, she has also served as a co-chapter leader of PAPS in Boston, supporting the Portuguese community in Boston.

Ângela Crespo

Ângela Crespo is from Lisbon and moved to Boston in 2010 to pursue her Ph.D. in Reproductive Immunology at Harvard University. After her post-doc (in the same field) at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, she transitioned to the biotech industry, joining Dragonfly Therapeutics to develop immune cell engagers against autoimmune diseases. She is currently Principal Scientist at CrossTalk Bio, a startup biotech company targeting new mechanisms in autoimmunity. Ângela has served as Chapter Leader of PAPS Boston since 2012 and was Vice-President in 2015-2018. She is passionate about science outreach and education and founded the Ciências Alumni Mentoring Program with Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, her alma mater. In her free time, Ângela enjoys salsa dancing and spending quality time with her family.
