I graduated both with B.S. and M.S. degrees from Instituto Técnico de Lisboa, with a major in Biological Engineering. I’m currently a PhD candidate in the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department at The Johns Hopkins University. I’m presently conducting research in the Lab of Daniele Gikes where I study the role of hypoxia in ECM organization and breast cancer metastasis.

I’m in the second-year of the Master of Arts degree in International Economics and International Relations at The John Hopkins University – School of Advanced International Studies. Prior to coming to Hopkins I worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
