Carlos Gonçalves – From Bench to Business
PhD Student at MIT Portugal Program
Carlos Gonçalves graduated, in 2011, in Biomedical Engineering, at University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. He is currently getting his PhD degree in Leaders for Technical Industries, at the same institution, over the MIT-Portugal Program within the Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing (EDAM) focus-area. His research is driven by innovation and product-oriented in health care products.
Diogo Ortega and Sofia Almeida – Entrepreneurship
CEO and CFO at Line Health
Diogo started coding at the age of 15, selling is first website by the age of 17. He studied Business at the University of London, while working as a freelancer developer until he decided to found Line Health.
Sofia is a doer. She founded 4 ventures while studying Journalism between Lisbon and Madrid. She joined Diogo to found Line Health after her first startup failed.
Together they have placed 3rd at Lisbon Challenge accelerator, they got a grant from Bayer and moved to Berlin to work at the pharma company HQ. Meanwhile, they reunited a talented team and are now conquering the US Market based in Boston.
